A knowledge-first platform built by people who believe gaming deserves to be taken seriously as a subject of genuine curiosity.
Qaviroxa started with a simple observation: there's no shortage of gaming content online, but very little of it is designed to deepen what you actually know. Most quiz sites are built around streaks, leaderboards, and engagement tricks. We wanted to make something different.
We're based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and our team comes from writing, education, and software development. The common thread is a genuine interest in games — not just playing them, but understanding where they came from, how they work, and why they matter.
The platform is free to use. It doesn't have pay-to-advance mechanics, no currency systems, no prizes. The reward is knowing more than you did before, which we'd argue is the best kind.
Every question goes through at least one round of factual review before publication. We don't publish questions we can't verify through multiple reliable sources.
We don't favor particular platforms, publishers, or franchises. Our question database covers a wide range of genres, eras, and gaming cultures without editorial bias.
We include explanations with every question because knowing the answer matters less than understanding why it's true. That's where the learning actually happens.
If we get something wrong, we correct it and note the change. Gaming history is complex and contested in places — we update content when new information emerges.
Qaviroxa is clear about what it is: an entertainment and educational platform. We don't make income claims, we don't run competitions with monetary value, and we don't use psychological pressure techniques to drive engagement.
If we display advertising, we label it clearly. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be disclosed upfront. Our editorial decisions are made independently of any business relationships.
We comply with Canadian consumer protection principles and relevant provincial regulations. If you ever have concerns about our content or practices, we're reachable directly at [email protected].
Conversation between Nathan and Aria about the lack of knowledge-focused gaming content. Most quiz platforms felt thin and gamified for the wrong reasons.
Six months building the question database and refining the editorial approach. Dean joined to build the quiz engine. Initial question set reached 80 entries.
Qaviroxa launched with five quiz categories and three articles. The focus was clarity: what are we, what aren't we, and why does that distinction matter.
Introduced weekly challenges based on user feedback. Lena joined to manage community input. Question database expanded to 195+ questions across eight genres.
Rebuilt the platform with improved accessibility, better mobile experience, and an expanded article library covering learning theory and gaming culture in depth.
